I wish they would make Source 2 a competitor to Unreal. I hate unreal. I think source 1 is better than unreal 5. At least more realistic. Aged more yes. But its way better for realism/atmosphere. You can tell when they made Source one, they wanted everything to be as realistic as possible. I wish they would do the same thing with Source 2, but with todays tech. I think it would compete with unreal if they just did that and put a few good games out with it.

Only a supremely powerful esoteric nerd that looks like melting mayo could steer the ship named Valve. They only show up when they can be watershed or innovative in some way, be it a narrative driven FPS game in the time of Doom or what they’ve done in the VR space and even Steam was completely groundbreaking when it happened (they even had a shopping cart from jump). No one else is like them, and I’m not sure we’ll ever see their equivalent.

Honestly alex mercer in the alpha reminds me more of a evolved then a prototype given he had dual blades and the spike attack it was neat how the early version of muscle mass looked though
